16,223 is the number tear gas canister the police have used against protesters during the 2019 anti-government protests in Hong Kong. One year later, the toxic fumes have dissipated, but its ramifications prove far more serious. Not only are the health concerns of long term exposure to tear gas unknown, law enforcement's refusal to disclose components of their chemical weapons makes it difficult for doctors to make accurate diagnosis. The psychological impact of exposure to tear gas are also often ignored. Through speaking with people affected by tear gas as well as medical and social science experts, this video aims to bring to light these concerns.
